FAQ
What’s the water like in accommodations? Is it safe to drink ?
All the hotels, volunteer houses & the rescue sanctuary have filtered water available which can be refilled as many times you want. We strongly recommend bringing a reusable water bottle, so that we can refill and refuse to buy plastic bottles each time.
What’s the volunteer house like ?
The volunteer house is more like an apartment/condo. There is wifi, a filtered water dispenser, twin sharing bedrooms, hot water, a small library and washing machine. The meals provided in the volunteer house will be traditional & homemade Indian vegetarian food. Every room in the volunteer house is equipped with air conditioners for summers & blankets and room heaters for winter season.
What is the camping like and amenities there ?
Camping is more like glamping. It has tents and cottages on twin/triple sharing with attached bathrooms. The hot water works, when it wants to, but there is no WiFi. There are power sockets to charge your phones though. All meals are prepared and served fresh at camp.
Where to exchange money ? at the airport or local money exchange outside ?
We suggest that you exchange some money at the airport when you first land in Delhi because
there is not a currency exchange kiosk near the Delhi hotel we stay at. There are many kiosks
to exchange money along the tour, so you can get as you go! ATM’s are available in each city
we go to.
Why do we need to bring gloves and long sleeves ?
Volunteer houses & some holy cities we visit are vegetarian, so make sure you get your meat
fix when you’re eating out! I hope you like curry and flavourful food as that is what you will get!
The guides will help you navigate menus but just be prepared that it might be a little more
difficult if you do have certain food preferences. Enjoy the local cuisine and take it all in if you
can!
What will the hotels and amenities like ?
All hotels we use on tour are upscale 3/4 star hotels & homestays with Wifi, hot water showers, twin beds, basic toiletries, breakfast buffets and restaurants serving both veg and non-veg meals.
I have some food allergies or intolerance ! What all things do I need to know about it ?
Indian cuisine is very diverse and has a lot of both Veg and Non Veg options. You can inform us
about your food allergies/intolerance like lactose intolerant, vegan, dairy, soya , peanuts etc
before the tour begins. The guides will help you navigate menus but just be prepared that it
might be a little more difficult if you do have certain food preferences.
What's the best way to experience Indian culture on a group tour?
There’s no one answer to that question as everyone experiences culture differently. However, we believe that the best way to experience Indian culture is to immerse yourself in it as much as possible. That means getting out there and interacting with the locals, trying new things and really getting a feel for what everyday life is like in India. Our group tours are designed to give you plenty of opportunities to do just that, so you can return home with some amazing memories (and maybe a few new friends)
How much free time do I get on your India tours?
Our group tours are action-packed but we also believe in giving our guests plenty of free time to explore at their own pace and make the most of each destination. You’ll typically have some free time each day.
Can I join a group tour if I'm travelling solo?
Yes, you can! We welcome solo travellers on our India group tours. There will be a single supplement charge or we will do our best to pair you up with a roommate of the same gender. Our tours are the perfect way to meet like-minded travellers and explore India with a group of new friends. If you’re worried about travelling solo, our friendly and experienced tour leaders will be there to help you every step of the way.
